Queensland born utility who made his NRL debut for Manly in 2005 before a two year stint at North Queensland in 2008 and 2009.
Already with a reputation as a fierce competitor, Burns arrived at the Panthers in 2010 and made his club debut in the opening round. He made 21 appearances that year, mostly at five-eighth.
Making another 19 appearances in 2011, he would assume the goal kicking duties for a large portion of the 2011 season, and had hit a small purple patch of form by slotting 24 from 25 attempts across 6 matches.
2012 would see him fill in at halfback and hooker throughout the season. It would be cut short when he copped a 12 week suspension in July for two separate incidents. Despite being contracted for 2013, he was released at the end of the season and joined Hull KR in the English Super League.
He would later be at St Helens and Leigh Centurions before returning to Australia to play a final season for Warwick in south west Queensland before retiring and entering into coaching.
