After a scoreless first half, the deadlock was finally broken in the 54th minute when Greg Alexander slotted a field goal.
Four minutes later, Alexander scooted to the open side off a scrum and drew the defence, passing short to five-eighth Tony Trudgett who touched down, with the conversion pushing it out to 8-0.
Whilst a penalty conversion soon after reduced it to a six point margin, the Panthers were able to hold on record a tight victory.
