Brad Tighe posted the first try in the 17th minute, with Michael Gordon’s conversion making it 6-0. Further tires to Luke Rooney and Michael Jennings pushed it out to 18-0 after 31 minutes.

The Bulldogs crossed for two tries in the final ten minutes, however was countered by another Penrith try – a second to Rooney – to have the home team lead 24-10 at half time.

Two more tries inside the first ten minutes – with Rooney completing a hat trick and Matthew Bell scoring from a mid-field line break – pushed it out to 36-10.

A third try to the visitors made it 36-16.

But three more tries in the final 13 minutes – to Maurice Blair, Tony Puletua and a fourth try to Luke Rooney – saw the visitors hit the half century and a complete a record breaking win over the Bulldogs.
