In the 12th minute Rhys Wesser ran through and grounded a Craig Gower grubber kick, with Preston Campbell’s conversion making it 6-0.

With a minute remaining, Michael Gordon scored to make it 10-0 at half time.

Whilst the Raiders were first to score in the second half to make it 10-6, the Panthers were next to score, with a try to Campbell which was converted by Gordon to make it 16-6 with just over 20 minutes remaining.

A penalty conversion from Gordon was quickly by a converted try also from the winger to lead 24-6 and secure the victory with five minutes remaining.

A second Canberra try with two minutes remaining only reduced Penrith’s winning margin.
