James Fisher-Harris barged his way over from close range to post the first points for the evening.

A simple two on one on the right edge saw Dylan Edwards pass it to an unmarked Charlie Staines to touch down in the corner, with Nathan Cleary’s conversion making it 12-0 after as many minutes.

In the 21st minute, a Cleary bomb was batted back by Kurt Capewell, with Isaah Yeo passing it to Stephen Crichton who then stepped his way through the Sharks defence to cross over.

The tries kept coming for Penrith, with a deft pass from Cleary to his halves partner Jarome Luai and then off-loading to centre Matt Burton on his inside to dive over. Cleary’s fourth conversion from as many attempts had the home team up 24-0 at halftime.

Ten minutes into the second half, a grubber kick into the in goal from Capewell was not properly grounded by the Sharks and Viliam Kikau forced enough downward pressure in the chase for the NRL Bunker to award the try.

The Panthers kept continuing to pile on the points, with Staines completing a hat trick with near identical lead up plays and slick passing from Crichton to make it 42-0 with just under three minutes remaining.

With under a minute remaining, Penrith completed the misery for the Sharks when Cleary dribbled a grubber into the in goal and was grounded by replacement forward Matt Eisenhuth before it reached the dead ball line.

It also surpassed their record for most points scored without conceding any, surpassing the 42-0 against the Bulldogs in 2020.
