Saturday 20th March at Bankwest Stadium
Penrith 28– Tries: Kikau (2), Momirovski (2), May (1); Goals: Cleary (2), Crichton (2) | Canterbury 0
In just the fourth minute, Viliam Kikau hit a hole on the Bulldogs right edge to barge over in the corner.
With only two minutes remaining in the half, a well weighted Jarome Luai stab kick into the in goal was grounded by Tyrone May, with Nathan Cleary’s conversion giving the visitors a 10-0 lead heading into halftime.
After a scoreless twenty minutes to open the second half, a Mitch Kenny from dummy half found a rampaging Kikau who once again hit a hole at close range to go over untouched.
With the Bulldogs down to 12 players after a high shot on Nathan Cleary with 10 minutes remaining, the Panthers finished off the contest with two more tries, both to Paul Momirovski – the first one was picking up the scraps after the Bulldogs were not able to ground a kick in the in goal, and then with two minutes remaining made it a double with a solo effort that started about 20 metres out and involved a number of tackle busts as he charged his way over.
For the second week in a row, the Panthers were able to keep their opposition scoreless.
