The Rabbitohs led10-0 after 17 minutes, however tries to Craig Gower (converted by debutant fullback Jarrod Sammut) and Frank Pritchard ensured that it was all level at 10 apiece at half time.

Whilst South Sydney regained the lead 10 minutes into the second half, a Matthew Cross try that was allowed after review from the video referee, and Sammut’s conversion once again levelled it up at 16-all.

Two tries in six minutes to centre Michael Jennings then surged the Panthers ahead to a 26-16 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

A try to Maurice Blair on the stroke of full time put an exclamation mark on a dominant, come from behind second half performance.
