After a scoreless 20 minutes, the Panthers scored twice, firstly to Ryan Simpkins and then to Kevin Kingston, with both converted by Blake Austin to lead 12-0 after 22 minutes. It was a lead they managed to hold intact for the remainder of the half.
However, the Dragons were able to finally make it on the scoreboard in the 68th minute, and seven minutes later had tied it up at 12-all.
With both teams unable to break the deadlock, it went to golden point extra time, and in the fourth minute of the first half, Lachlan Coote landed field goal to earn the Panthers the two premiership points, and more importantly snap a five-match losing streak.
