Neil Baker booted a penalty conversion in the seventh minute which was later countered by a penalty to Norths.

But soon after, Chris Mortimer stepped through the line and found Doug Delaney in support to cross over for a try, with Baker’s conversion making it 8-2. Another penalty conversion to Baker with just four minutes remaining in the half gave them a 10-2 lead at the half time break.

Ten minutes after the resumption, the Panthers edged their lead ahead by 1 with a field goal to Baker.

A converted try to the Bears on the hour mark reduced it to 11-8, and a penalty conversion bookended by two more field goals to Baker had moved the score from 11-8 in the 64th minute to 15-8 in the 73rd minute.

With points obviously hard to come by, the visitors opted to take a penalty conversion with five minutes remaining but could not further bridge the gap as Penrith held on and grafted out a 15-10 win.
