The Panthers spectacularly opened the scoring inside the first two minutes when Travis Robinson marked an Eels kick in the in goal, and then sprinted to the 20-metre line for a restart, the spotting a yawning gap and running the entire length of the field untouched.

Soon after the Eels locked it up at 6-all.

On the back of a 40/20 kick after 25 minutes, the Panthers swung the ball to the right and an unmarked David Simmons on the right flank to cross in the corner.

A chain of passes up the middle ended with James Segeyaro who sidestepped his way to under the black dot.

Leading 16-6 at the half hour mark, the visitors reduced the host’s lead to four, before a second try to Robinson made it 20-12 at the half time break.

12 minutes after the restart, Simmons broke the line from a Panthers scrum, who then found debutant Matt Moylan on his inside and provided his second try assist to Segeyaro, finishing a 70 metre movement.

Parramatta spilt the ball running out from their defensive try line, with Dean Whare simply picking it up and jogging over the line, managing to improve his position for the conversion to make it 32-12.

Two tries in the final five minutes, both off the boot of Luke Walsh – the first to Lewis Brown and a second to Simmons completed a 44-12 demolition of their western Sydney neighbours.
