The home team scored the only try in the first 40 minutes to hold a 6-0 lead at half time.
In the 57th minute, a Wade Graham cut out pass placed Frank Pritchard into a gap, who then offloaded to Lachlan Coote to post the visitors belated response, with Michael Gordon’s conversion tying it up at 6-all.
Twelve minutes later, the Panthers hit the lead when Masada Iosefa burrowed over from dummy half, with the successful conversion making it 12-6.
The defending premiers set up a potential grandstand finish with a second try to make it 12-10, and the Panthers gutsy defensive effort in the closing minutes earnt them their first win of the season.
