The Panthers conceded the first try to trail 6-0 after 11 minutes.
With just over 10 minutes remaining in the half Penrith opened their points account when Jarome Luai stepped and jinked his way through the Tigers defensive line at close range and managed to plant the ball with an out stretched arm across the line.
When Liam Martin hit a half gap 10 metres out and barged over with just over 3 minutes left, the Panthers led 12-6.
A penalty conversion on the stroke of half time extended the home team’s lead to 8 at the break.
Soon after the resumption, a Tyrone May cut out pass found an unmarked Brian To’o on the right flank and whilst he had some work to do to evade the defensive line he managed to still plant the ball in the corner quite easily.
At 18-6 for a large part of the second half, a penalty try to Stephen Crichton in which he was taken out in the contest for a deft Jarome Luai stab kick made it 24-6 with just over 6 minutes remaining locked in the premiership points for the Panthers
The contest was iced with a try to Josh Mansour in the dying seconds.
