In wet conditions, the home team opened the scoring in 16th minute when debutant Dallin Watene-Zelezniak scored in the corner, but it would remain unconverted with the Panthers leading 4-0.

With less than a minute to half time, a cut out pass hit an unmarked Josh Mansour on the opposite wing and crossed over in the corner. Once again it remained unconverted and Penrith led 8-0 at half time.

A converted try to the Raiders in the 54th minute reduced it to a 2 point margin.

With less than 9 minutes remaining, a pin point cross field kick from Peter Wallace found an unmarked Dallin Watene-Zelezniak who was standing in the in goal and simply had to catch and ground the ball for a try. The third unsuccessful conversion attempt, once again from the sideline left it at a 6 point margin, however the Panthers managed to hold out the visitors for the remainder to record a victory.
