Saturday 11th April at Pepper Stadium
Penrith 22 – Tries: Mansour (2), Blake (1), Koroisau (1); Goals: Moylan (3) | Manly 12
Josh Mansour opened the scoring only minutes into the contest when he took a cut out pass from Matt Moylan and despite a covering tackle from his opposing player managed to ground the ball in the corner before being bundled into the touch in goal.
Manly equalised with a converted try after the 20 minute mark and a penalty conversion on the stroke of half time had the visitors leading 8-6 at the break.
After 53 minutes, Mansour had a double when he finished a slick back line movement, however Moylan was unable to convert but the Panthers had regained the lead.
Minutes later Penrith further extended their lead when Waqa Blake took a short ball and split a small gap to break the line and cross for his first NRL try. Moylan’s extras made it 16-8.
In the 64th minute the lead was further extended when a ball movement that started swinging to the right flank swung back to the middle and Sika Manu found Api Koroisau on the inside, splitting the scattered defensive line to cross adjacent to the right upright.
A Manly try with 10 minutes remaining reduced it to a 10 point lead however the Panthers held them out.
