Debuted for the Sydney City Roosters in 1997 before moving to North Queensland in 1999.
After 16 matches across two seasons at the Cowboys, he joined Parramatta in 2001 but played no NRL that season.
In 2002 he was one of a large number of new signings that arrived at the Panthers.
He made his club debut in the Round 8 match versus Sydney Roosters at Aussie Stadium as a starting centre. Across the season, Halliday made 11 NRL appearances, alternating between starting centre and coming off the bench.
Although part of the NRL squad for 2003, he was not able to add to his NRL appearances, playing for the St. Mary’s-Penrith Cougars in the Premier League before being released mid-season returning to the Eels but stayed in the lower grades before retiring at the end of that season.
