The Panthers scored the first try of the match in the 8th minute when Matt Moylan stepped back inside and sliced through the line to cross adjacent to the uprights. Nathan Cleary’s conversion had the visitors up 6-0.
Minutes later that lead was doubled when Waqa Blake barged over at close range, and a Cleary penalty conversion soon after had Penrith lead 14-0 after 27 minutes.
Despite a number of attacking chances the Titans were not able to post any first half points and the Panthers kept their 14-0 advantage heading into half time.
However, the Titans would be first to score in the second half and had themselves posted 14 unanswered points, with a penalty conversion with less than five minutes remaining locking it up at 14-all.
The Panthers would quickly gain field position and two minutes later, Moylan slotted a field goal from 25 metres out to have them edge ahead by 1, and would maintain that advantage to full time.
