The Panthers opened the scoring when James Tamou managed to get the ball on the stripe inside the opening three minutes, with Nathan Cleary’s conversion giving the home team a 6-0 lead.

This was soon countered by a Manly try however it remained unconverted and Penrith were ahead by 6-4.

In the shadows of half time, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak won a three-way battle to diffuse a Matt Moylan cross field bomb and managed to get the ball grounded, with Cleary’s conversion giving the Panthers a 12-4 lead at the break.

The Sea Eagles were the first to score in the second half, however once again remained unconverted.

Two penalty conversion to Cleary in the 56th and 67th minutes would be the only further points scored as the Panthers recorded a 16-8 victory.
