Parramatta junior who first started with Penrith in Third Grade in 1972 before making his first-grade debut in Round 7, 1974 as the starting halfback.
Over the next four seasons he would make 30 first grade appearances for the Panthers before leaving the club at the end of the 1977 season.
Over the next 10 years he would continue his career outside of Sydney, firstly at Bathurst and then Quirindi before returning to Sydney to play two more seasons in the North Sydney A Grade competition before retiring in 1987.
He is the father of current NRL referee Ashley Klein.
