Blue Mountains junior who made his first grade debut in 1996, playing eight matches mostly on the wing in the second half of the season.
He would be a semi-regular feature in the Panthers backline for the remainder of the decade, covering in all three backline positions.
Hinson would not be able to crack in to the NRL starting team in 2000 spending the whole season in their first division team that culminated in a grand final loss to the Bulldogs.
He would make a return to the NRL in 2001 with eight appearances.
However, he would leave Penrith at the end of the season, signing with the re-admitted South Sydney for 2002. He would make five appearances that season but once again could not crack the NRL team in 2003.
In 2004 Hinson would head west to play out his rugby league career with the Bathurst Panthers in the Group 10, before moving up to the Sunshine Coast and coaching the Kawana Dolphins A Grade team from 2010 to 2012 and was be back in the role in 2019.
