A converted try and penalty conversion saw the Eels hold a 10-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes.
After 18 minutes the Panthers struck back when Tim Grant hit and spun at close range and was able to power his way over the line, with Nathan Cleary’s conversion narrowing it to 8-6.
Minutes later Penrith tied it up at 8 apiece when Cleary slotted a penalty conversion from in front, however Parramatta regained the lead soon after with a penalty conversion to lead 10-8 at half time.
The Panthers locked it up once again eight minutes after the resumption with a second penalty conversion to Cleary.
Ten minutes later Cleary grounded a Jarome Luai grubber that had ricocheted off the Eels defensive line and added the extras for the Panthers to lead 16-10.
In a scrappy final 20 minutes the Panthers were able to hold out the Eels to record a win at their first visit to the new Bankwest Stadium but more importantly break a six match losing streak.
