St. George were the first team to score with a converted try after nine minutes to lead 5-0.
Soon after, a Shane Marshall penalty conversion reduced it to 5-2, and in the 19th minute a converted Brad Waugh try had the Panthers hit the lead.
However, the Dragons would regain the lead after 30 minutes and a penalty conversion on half time would see the home team lead 10-7.
A try to centre Brian Walden 11 minutes after the resumption, where he ran on to a pass from Henry Foster and crossed under the posts saw the visitors lead 12-10.
Three more tries in the space of seven minutes, with a second to Waugh and to Graeme Jennings and Ross Gigg saw the Panthers further extend their advantage to 13 points, and were able to keep the Dragons scoreless in the second half to close out a well deserved victory – it would be their first in fifteen visits, and it also more importantly snapped an eight match losing streak.
