New Zealand born half who made his NRL debut for the Warriors in 2009. After nine appearances across three seasons, he played for Wakefield in the English Super League in 2012 before being signed by the Panthers for the 2013 season.
Starting the 2013 season for the Windsor Wolves in the NSW Cup, he earned a call up to the NRL midway through the season, making his club debut in Round 9 in their drought breaking win against Melbourne at Centrebet Stadium. The following week, he scored a hat trick of tries in their 62-6 hiding of his former team the Warriors. John would end up making 16 appearances for the Panthers in 2013, all as starting five-eighth.
Whilst he would only make 3 NRL appearances in 2014 (two at halfback and all within the first month of the competition), he would later be selected from the NSW Cup to make his Test debut for New Zealand in the ANZAC Test match. A week later, he would suffer a season ending knee injury whilst playing for the Panthers in the NSW Cup.
He would return in 2015 and slightly improve his NRL tally from the previous year, making seven appearances at both five-eighth and halfback.
He would join Manly in 2016, playing two seasons of NSW Cup with the Sea Eagles and later Mounties before retiring at the end of the 2017 season.
