New Zealand born fullback who had made his Test debut for the Kiwis in 1990 and joined the Panthers in 1995 after stints with Leeds and two years at Balmain in 1993 and 1994.
Making his club debut in the opening round of the 1995 season in the centres, he played the majority of his 17 matches that year at fullback.
His 13 appearances in 1996 were in the centres, before a stint in the halves at five-eighth and later in the season in the forwards at lock.
Edwards would only make one appearance in the 1997 Super League season and seven in 1998 before retiring at season’s end.
Post retirement, he played a few seasons of lower grade rugby union in the Blue Mountains.
