Darwin born Windsor junior who made his first grade debut in the final premiership round of the 1996 season, coming off the bench.
The forward made 14 appearances in the 1997 Super League season, alternating between a starting second rower and coming off the bench.
He continued being a regular member of the Panthers squad for the remainder of the decade, being primarily used off the bench.
MacGillivray would make just the one appearance in 2000 (in the semi final v Canberra), and only four in 2001.
At season’s end, he was part of a mass exodus from the Panthers, signing with the readmitted South Sydney for the 2002 season. He then played five seasons for Wakefield in the Super League and retired after making two appearances for Scotland in the 2008 World Cup.
Post retirement he has returned to Darwin and is involved with the NT rugby league.
