A Campbell try soon after the restart gave Penrith an 18-6 lead, but the visitors scored once again to reduce it to a 6 point margin.
Penrith pulled ahead once again when Luke Lewis pulled in a Galea pass to dive in the corner.
Melbourne would however keep Penrith on their toes with another counter response to make it 24-16.
But the Panthers would once again extend their lead when Wesser crossed for his second after spinning in a tackle close to the line, with Campbell’s conversion making it a 14 point lead.
Campbell iced the contest soon after when he himself crossed for his second, and his conversion giving him a 20 point haul for the match.
