Former Brisbane coach who was appointed as Ivan Cleary’s replacement late in 2015 for the 2016 season.

His first season saw Penrith saw them return to the finals, but ended in semi final defeat in Canberra.

A 2-9 start in 2017 saw his position in danger, but a mid-season surge with 11 wins from 13 matches secured back to back finals appearances for the first time since 2003/04, and saw him rewarded with a contract extension.

2018 saw a lot of slow starts converted to heart stopping wins, and although the Panthers were never any lower than 6th throughout the regular season, his coaching style increasingly came under question – in the rather uncharacteristic circumstances of following a win and also with Penrith in the top 4. he was sacked with six rounds remaining in the season.

After a brief stint in the media, he was appointed coach for St. George Illawarra in 2021, where he is currently contracted until the end of the 2023 season.
